ABOUT OUR CLASSES FOR GROWN-UPS Brooklyn Design Lab offers small-group classes for grown-ups. Our Intensive Design Workshops take a project through the design process-from conception to completion-over one or two evenings.
Our design classes are available on-demand (you and 2 other friends - rates listed below) or one-on-one (check with BDL for rates). Email us to learn more!
Students are invited to bring in their old and broken jewelry, out of date gems, strings of beads, or vintage finds that need a boost! We will dismantle the pieces into their element parts and learn how to reconstruct them into modern designs. Students will make updated creations with the addition of chain, wire, cord and findings. This is an open level class where basic techniques will be taught. Those with prior experience in wire wrapping or bead stringing will be able to apply what they know to the class. 2 classes : $100 + $15 materials Please email us to set up a workshop.
In this workshop, you will create unique T's for your baby or toddler! Using your personal imagery and hand-printing techniques, you'll create custom stamps and stencils to bring your own chic designs to your baby's wardrobe. We will work on organic cotton stock onesies and lap tees. Newborns through 12 month olds sport onesies and 12-24 month olds graduate to lap tees. Please bring several designs (sketches are perfect) you'd like to use. 2 classes : $100 + $15 materials Please email us to set up a workshop.
No more naked dogs! Your dog will love you for warming them up in styl--your style! Dog owners and friends of dog owners will learn to create their own unique appliquéd doggie shirt. We will start with solid black shirts and a variety of fabric to get your dog ready for the catwalk. Your dog needs to be: small (8-10 lbs) or medium (11-25 lbs). Dog not included. Well-behaved dogs are welcome to attend. 1 class : $50 + $10 materials Please email us to set up a workshop.
Make-up policy: Students in classes for 18m-4 year olds can attend one make-up class per session. You must make arrangements ahead of time. Make-up dates are set by Brooklyn Design Lab. Make-up classes are mixed age and may or may not include the same materials from your class. Due to the nature of our courses and small class size, there are NO MAKE-UPS in classes and workshops for grades K-6 and grown-ups.
Class cancellation policy: In the event Brooklyn Design Lab cancels your registered class, you will be notified as soon as possible and refunded.
